Tim Ashcraft

Long time club member Timothy Eugene Ashcraft, 49, died March 4, 2009, in Anchorage.

Tim was born March 2, 1960, on Loring Air Force Base in Limestone, Maine, to the military family of Robert Ashcraft. Tim's father is a Vietnam veteran and served 20 years in the U.S. Air Force. As a child, Tim had a dream to join the Army and that dream came true after he graduated high school in Florida.

Tim took part in Operation Desert Storm and was honorably discharged. After his discharge, he continued to be fascinated with all military things. His special interest was researching the history of World War II.
He moved to Alaska in the early 1990s.
He often made trips to the Ukraine, where he visited the World War II museums and met his wife, Inna.

Tim enjoyed building plastic military models. He was an active member of the Anchorage Plastic Modeling Club and took first place in many of their competitions with his models.

On weekends, he liked to go shooting with his family at the shooting range.
His family said, "Tim will be greatly missed by his wife, family and all the people who loved him."

We all love and miss him, his family added.
Tim's life was dedicated to serving his country and family.
